It is hard to imagine the Slovak music scene without these two legendary bands. Sound-wise, they go in different directions, but something unites them. Both started in the underground, and although a lot of time has passed since the 80s, they have never betrayed their ideals. Bez ladu a skladu and Slobodna Europa are longtime friends and have similar views on many topics, but only now have they agreed to go on tour together. “These concerts came about spontaneously in the dressing room at the last concert in Bratislava. Every year we invite bands there that we like and that mean something to us. This year it was Bez ladu a skladu and the excitement of playing together was there from the beginning,” said Whisky, the lead singer of Slobodna Europa, about the joint tour.

Slobodna Evropa has been one of the leading punk-rock’n’roll bands since its formation in 1989 and many of their songs are among the best to come out of the Slovak scene. Currently they play in the line-up of Whisky – vocals, Sve’o – guitar, vocals, Pet’o Balik – guitar, Ras’o Gore – bass guitar, vocals, Tuleň – drums.

Bez ladu a skladu was formed in 1985 as an underground band led by Michal Kascak, then only 13 years old, who sang metaphorical lyrics with bold criticism of the then political regime. In 2009, the American New York Times listed them among the groups that contributed to the fall of the Iron Curtain. The current line-up includes Michal Kaščák – vocals, Martin Beďatš – guitar, Peter Kaščák – bass guitar, Richard Rybníček – drums, Rasto Kubica – saxophone, Peter Kohout – saxophone.
