What happens when you take a musically proficient wild London rocker and a platinum-haired Irish musical rebel, add a few synths, crank up the distortion to infinity and burn the rules? They become Wargasm. A collision of thrashy guitars, apocalyptic dance electronics, catchy harmonies and unadulterated sex appeal, British duo Sam Matlock and Milkie Way can turn an underground gothic club upside down one night and set a massive outdoor festival on its feet the next. That’s why they’ve earned accolades from Kerrang!, Revolver, Upset and others, and racked up millions of streams despite only two albums to their name. Wargasm have quietly become one of the most fascinating bands in the world.
The pair got together in 2018 and eventually incorporated synths into their bloodthirsty metal mayhem. The single “Spit.” made a dent in streaming services with over 3.7 million on Spotify. The wave of enthusiastic responses increased when they released the singles “Rage All Over,” “Salma Hayek” and “Scratchcard Feeling.” NME included them in their “100 Acts to Watch in 2021” and Alternative Press highlighted them on the cover of “New Bands To Watch” in 2021. They took home the “Best UK Breakthrough” award at The Heavy Music Awards. As well as shows with Yungblud and Creeper, they have wowed audiences at Reading and Leeds, Download, Bloodstock and last but not least Rock for People.
