After a great show at Rock for People 2024, Vukovi returns to the Czech Republic with a supercharged solo set. The band will perform on February 26th at Rock Café accompanied by Unpeople and Artio.

Two years after the release of their critically lauded second album Fall Better – and plenty of global weirdness in between – Vukovi returned in 2022 with “NULA”, the best distillation of their unique musical vision yet. “NULA is a concept record,” singer Janine describes. Like any artist who puzzles over their work, Janine wants the album to tell its own story. At the same time, the band plans to release a book supplement to the recordings later in the form of a novella.

“I’ve always enjoyed science fiction,” Janine says. “Growing up, I loved Star Wars, The Fifth Element, Alien, and sci-fi was an escape from the pain for me. I could sit in my bedroom and look out the window and know that something much bigger was going on. Which is exactly what I want this album to bring to people.”

Scottish pop-punk band VUKOVI combine heavy rock riffs with melodic, catchy vocals to create an intense sound. The band was originally formed by Hamish Reilly, Jason Trotter and Martin Lynch under the name Wolves. However, the line-up changed several times and eventually Janine Slihstone was added to the group and the name was changed to VUKOVI, which means wolf in Serbian. Their first EP was released in 2012 and was called Sweet Swears. The eponymous debut album was released five years later. Later the band remained only as a duo, with the aforementioned line-up of Hamish Reilly and Janine Shilstone.
