Silent Planet returns to the Czech Republic powered by their latest album SUPERBLOOM. The metalcore unit will perform with special guests Like Moths to Flames, Vexed and Avoid on February 8th at Rock Café.
Every once in a while, wildflowers bloom en masse in the California desert, and it is this phenomenon that is known as SUPERBLOOM. It paints the year-round arid and desolate landscape with lush colors, inspiring the creation and development of Silent Planet to date. Since the band’s formation in 2009, the quartet – Garrett Russell [vocals, guitar], Mitchell Stark [guitar], Alex Camerena [drums] and Nick Pocock [bass] – have set themselves apart from the rest when it comes to hard music. Enhancing hypnotic melodies with alternately raw and rich soundscapes with hardcore, post-rock, metal and ambient textures, the award-winning band has racked up tens of millions of streams and earned the praise of tastemakers.
Silent Planet continues to gain die-hard fans. They’ve released a string of acclaimed albums, including The Night God Slept [2014], Everything Was Sound [2016], When The End Began [2018] and Iridescent [2021], which Hysteria magazine called “vulnerable and emotional”. In 2017, they were awarded “Best Underground Band” at the Alternative Music Press Awards and have toured with bands such as Motionless In White, August Burns Red, Beartooth and The Contortionist.
“Our mantra has always been: ‘Trade your confidence for wonder.’ SUPERBLOOM is an extension of that. We were given a second chance at life – everything seems so insignificant compared to the fact that we almost died. We want to take the hope we’ve been given by our community and make the most of it. We’re not alone, and we understand that now in more ways than our previous paradigms would ever allow,” says the band.
