GHØSTKID creates music that is a dive into darkness and aggression. Slowly balancing between valuing teeth and maintaining a sense of catchy melodies. GHØSTKID is the new moniker of Sebastian “Sushi” Biesler (formerly Eskimo Callboy) and a conspiracy of friends and like-minded allies who have come to their own rebellion: Steve Joakim (drums) from Sweden, as well as Jan Marco Heinz (guitar) Chris Kisseler (guitar) and Stanislaw Czywil (bass).
After successful shows at Rock for People 2021 and 2022, and supporting Bad Omens at the absolutely hopelessly sold out Lucerna Music Bar last year, GHØSTKID finally returns for their own headline show. It will be played on October 1 at Rock Café.
Tickets are on sale from April 17, 18:00 on GoOut.
It all started in October 2019 when Sushi picked up a guitar and started writing for GHØSTKID.
It was immediately clear that it was in his DNA.”I just followed my heart,” he says.At the time, Sushi was inspired by the world’s patchwork in the form of Marilyn Manson, Fever 333 and Bring Me the Horizon, who inspired him to mix a variety of sounds touching on pop, metal, industrial and a touch of trap. This was the basis for the future form of GHØSTKID.
Once the listener delves into the layers of his sound and ambition, it will come as no surprise that Sushi has successfully transformed into the entity known as GHØSTKID. “It leaves a lot of room for interpretation, while you immediately associate certain images with it,” he says, warning that this is music that not only terrifies the senses, but is a full-blown sonic exorcism and deafening thunder to the viewer’s ears.
