Finnish band Wolfheart, centered around charismatic multi-instrumentalist Tuomas Saukkonen, has become synonymous with epic melodic death metal with themes of Nordic nature, winter and war. Saukkonen’s creative potential is best summed up by the cadence with which Wolfheart has been releasing records – last year they released their eighth full-length album, Draconian Darkness, with which they will embark on a European tour this autumn, which will also include visits to the Czech Republic and Slovakia. On the latest addition to their extensive discography, Wolfheart continue their inclination towards more symphonic positions, while maintaining their proven recipe – sharpened guitar riffs and typical melancholic brutality.
