Obscure presents: Caligula’s Horse (AUS)

From Brisbane, Australia, CALIGULA’S HORSE are one of the brightest lights in contemporary progressive metal, striking a perfect balance between catchy songwriting and virtuosity. Their music is both colourful and emotive and encompasses many different influences. Contemporary prog predominates, represented by bands like Haken, Leprous or Vola, but it goes much further, quietly to Tesseract, Opeth, Pain of Salvation or King Crimson.
After the excellent 2020 album Rise Radiant, which was a polished piece of work in every respect: wild, musical, epic and with a great sound, CALIGULA’S HORSE now returns with the new album Charcolar Grace. The album is due out at the end of January and the three tracks currently released – The Stormchaser, the destiminute The World Breathes with Me and Golem – promise another great album of raw prog sound with a strong dose of emotion.
