ITCHY are back and remain one of the most reliable and likeable constants in the punk rock universe:
Close to 1000 concerts in over 20 different countries, from the smallest youth club to the biggest festival stages, 8 studio albums, three of them in the Top20, shows and tours with Bad Religion, Sum41 or Billy Talent and even after 21 years of band history still one of the best and most energetic live bands in the country.
In the best DIY manner, the three Swabians have built up their status as an indispensable rock institution over the years and deliver new ideas, new albums and, most importantly, a never-ending series of sweaty concerts with completely escalating audiences and notorious entertainment value with impressive regularity.
The fact that ITCHY is always about more than just music is shown by their numerous collaborations with renowned NGOs: extensive campaigns and stirring music videos in cooperation with Greenpeace, Amnesty International, Kein Bock auf Nazis or OceanCare are just as close to their hearts as the thematisation of critical and uncomfortable content in many of their song lyrics.
After the release of their biography 20 Years Down The Road and an extensive reading & acoustic tour, the band was finally able to plug in the electric guitars again at the end of last year:
The tour, which had been postponed several times due to corona, finally became the most successful in the band’s history, and every night the frenetic crowds of followers showed that it wasn’t only the band that sorely missed the intense live experiences.
In the summer of 2023, the new work will be released on the band’s own label, Findaway Records, and listeners can look forward to a truly impressive, fresh album.
