Debate on Freedom and Minorities: no. 8. LGBT+

Rock Café presents the eighth in a series of debates on minorities in the Czech Republic. A unique concept of public discussions that will bring you closer to the minority than you expect. This time, for the first time, we are not focusing on an ethnic minority, but on a social minority – LGBT+. This acronym stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and is used as an umbrella term for the whole spectrum of sexual and gender identities.

How are people who identify as LGBT+ received in the Czech Republic? In what ways are Czech laws open and in what ways are they not? Why is society not in agreement with the legislative enactment of equal marriage rights for all? What are the legislative barriers to adoption? Why is there a steady increase in radicalism against this community and how can this be countered?

Guests for the debate will be announced at the event. The debate will be moderated by Vladan Vanek.
