Branko’s Bridge is a quartet of young musicians from Prague who can serve the audience an energetic and infectiously catchy show. With two guitars, keyboards, synthesizers, bass guitar, surprisingly driving vocals and drums, the band mixes seemingly distant genres, including psychedelia, disco and post punk. The band, named after the jump from the Belgrade bridge, has a name for itself in the Czech Republic – in addition to appearances at leading Czech festivals, they managed to fill clubs and festivals outside the capital during the summer and autumn tour for their debut album Hobby Horse Cowboy. But two sold-out Prague Christmas concerts confirm that Branko’s Bridge plays best “at home”.
Panoptikum is the flagship of the Brno psychedelic scene. They have released an eponymous EP (2018) and an LP Mantichora (2022) under the Kabinet records label. Also worth mentioning is their collaboration with a legend of Czech dubbing – actor Ladislav Županič, who was Clint Eastwood’s longtime dubbing alter ego and who voiced the lines to two songs from the aforementioned LP Mantichora. Their live performances are especially interesting, full of unbridled energy in combination with various theatrical elements, thanks to which they are able to draw the listener into the very heart of their compositions.
